Congratulations to KaiFu Zhang for his paper accepted by Angewandte Chemie International Edition!

The authors prepared a series of "core-satellite" bifunctional nanostructures with both SERS and catalytic activities through the assembly calcination strategy. This kind of bifunctional nanostructure can amplify the Raman signal of the surface molecules of the nano metaloxide "satellite" by using the SERS enhancement effect of the "core" of the metal nanoparticles, so as to detect the chemical reactions of the molecules on the surface of the nanoparticles. In this work, the selective oxidation of silane to silanol was used as a model reaction to study the in-situ SERS characterization of the photocatalytic oxidation on the surface of the oxide.
